Frequently asked questions.
Purity, testing, storage, shipping and the research-use-only framework we operate under. If your question is not here, ask us directly.
Are SpecPep products safe for human use?
No. Nothing we sell is approved for human or veterinary use, and nothing is intended for human consumption. All SpecPep products are chemical compounds supplied strictly for laboratory and in-vitro research by qualified personnel. They are not drugs, foods, cosmetics or dietary supplements.
Do you provide dosing or usage instructions?
No, and we will not provide them on request. Because every product is sold for research use only, we do not supply dosing, reconstitution, dilution, administration or protocol guidance of any kind. What we do guarantee is purity and identity — both documented on the Certificate of Analysis that ships with your lot.
Do I need a prescription or a license to order?
Our products are research chemicals, not prescription medicines, so a prescription is not applicable. You are responsible for ensuring your purchase and intended research use comply with all federal, state and local law in your jurisdiction. We may decline or cancel any order at our discretion.
What purity can I expect?
Our release specification is ≥99.0% by reverse-phase HPLC for peptide products, with a small number of complex or less-stable compounds specified at ≥98%. The exact figure for your lot is printed on the Certificate of Analysis, along with the chromatogram.
How do I know I received the right compound?
Purity alone cannot answer that — a 99% pure unknown is still an unknown. Every lot is additionally confirmed by mass spectrometry, which verifies molecular identity. Both results appear on the COA.
Who performs your testing?
Release testing is performed by ISO/IEC 17025 accredited third-party laboratories, not in-house. Chain of custody documentation is available on request for wholesale accounts.
How should products be stored?
Storage conditions are listed on each product page and on the label. Most lyophilized peptides are stored at -20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Small molecules are generally stable at room temperature when kept desiccated. See the storage and stability reference.
How long does shipping take?
In-stock items typically ship the same business day. Processing can take 1–5 business days depending on order volume. Orders ship via tracked courier; expedited options are available. Delivery times are not guaranteed and can be affected by weather or carrier delays.
Do you ship internationally?
Some international destinations, but not all. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm we can ship to your location and that your import requirements can be met. International customers are responsible for all duties, taxes and compliance with local law.
What is the minimum order?
Retail research orders have no minimum. Bulk and repeat-account pricing starts at 200 units — contact us with your compound list and volumes for a quote.
Do you have an affiliate or partner program?
Yes. Commission runs from 10% to 35% depending on your monthly referred volume, with a 30-day cookie and monthly payouts. Once you earn a tier your rate is locked in permanently. Full terms, tiers and the content policy are on the partner program page.
Can I return a product?
Because these are research chemicals whose storage conditions cannot be verified once they leave our control, we cannot accept returns of opened or temperature-sensitive items. Damaged, incorrect or non-conforming shipments are replaced or refunded — see refunds & returns.
How do I request a Certificate of Analysis before ordering?
Use the COA library and request the material you are evaluating, or use the COA lookup in the header. We are happy to send current documentation before you place an order.
